Ryzen 7 4800H vs Core i5-11400F benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 4800H beats the Core i5-11400F in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-11400F has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 4800H has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-11400F has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-11400F. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 4800H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-11400F. Despite this, the Core i5-11400F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 4800H CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-11400F CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4800H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
