Ryzen 7 4700U vs Ryzen 9 4900H comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 4700U is faster than the Ryzen 9 4900H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 4900H in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 9 4900H has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 9 4900H has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 4700U. Also, the Ryzen 9 4900H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 4700U CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 9 4900H CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches and L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
