Ryzen 7 4700U vs Core i5-11400F specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-11400F is faster than the Ryzen 7 4700U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 4700U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 4700U has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i5-11400F that has 6 cores. Despite this, the Core i5-11400F has more threads than the Ryzen 7 4700U. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-11400F has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 4700U. Also, the Core i5-11400F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 4700U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-11400F CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
