Xeon E5-2680 v3 vs Core i5-12600H specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2680 v3 beats the Core i5-12600H in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-12600H has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E5-2680 v3 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-12600H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2680 v3. Also, the Core i5-12600H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-12600H outputs less heat than Xeon E5-2680 v3 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2680 v3 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
