Xeon E5-2637 v3 vs EPYC 74F3 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-2637 v3 is faster than the EPYC 74F3. Despite this, the EPYC 74F3 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the EPYC 74F3 has significantly more cores with 9 cores whereas the Xeon E5-2637 v3 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon E5-2637 v3. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-2637 v3 has a slightly higher clock speed than the EPYC 74F3. A Xeon E5-2637 v3 CPU outputs less heat than a EPYC 74F3 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2637 v3 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
