Xeon E5-1660 v4 vs Core i5-1340P benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i5-1340P beats the Xeon E5-1660 v4 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-1660 v4 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1340P has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Xeon E5-1660 v4 that has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-1660 v4 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1340P. Despite this, the Core i5-1340P has a slightly higher turbo speed.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1660 v4 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
