Xeon E3-1220 v3 vs Xeon W3550 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E3-1220 v3 beats the Xeon W3550 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon W3550 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon W3550 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E3-1220 v3 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon W3550. Also, the Xeon E3-1220 v3 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Xeon E3-1220 v3 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon W3550 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Xeon E3-1220 v3 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
