Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 9 5900HX performs better than the Ryzen 9 4900H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 4900H in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Both the Ryzen 9 4900H and Ryzen 9 5900HX have the same clock speed. Despite this, the Ryzen 9 5900HX has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power).
