Ryzen 9 4900H vs Core Ultra 5 236V comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core Ultra 5 236V is faster than the Ryzen 9 4900H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 4900H in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 9 4900H has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 4900H has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core Ultra 5 236V. Despite this, the Core Ultra 5 236V has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core Ultra 5 236V has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 9 4900H. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 4900H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
