Ryzen 9 3900XT vs Ryzen Threadripper 1920X comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 9 3900XT performs better than the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 9 3900XT has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. Also, the Ryzen 9 3900XT has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 9 3900XT CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen Threadripper 1920X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 9 3900XT also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 3900XT has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
