Ryzen 9 3900XT vs Core i9-11900K benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-11900K performs better than the Ryzen 9 3900XT. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 3900XT in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 9 3900XT has significantly more cores than the Core i9-11900K. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 3900XT has 12 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Core i9-11900K. It also has more threads than the Core i9-11900K. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 3900XT has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i9-11900K. Despite this, the Core i9-11900K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 9 3900XT CPU outputs less heat than a Core i9-11900K CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 3900XT has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i9-11900K. The Ryzen 9 3900XT also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 3900XT has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
