Ryzen 9 3900XT vs Core i9-10850K comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i9-10850K is faster than the Ryzen 9 3900XT. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 3900XT in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 9 3900XT has slightly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Core i9-10850K has 10 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i9-10850K. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 9 3900XT has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-10850K. Despite this, the Core i9-10850K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 9 3900XT CPU outputs less heat than a Core i9-10850K CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 9 3900XT has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i9-10850K. The Ryzen 9 3900XT also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 3900XT has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
