Ryzen 7 7730U vs Core i5-12600H benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 7730U is faster than the Core i5-12600H. Despite this, the Core i5-12600H has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-12600H has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 7730U has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-12600H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 7730U. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 7730U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-12600H CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Core i5-12600H also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7730U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
