Ryzen 7 7700X vs Ryzen 7 5800XT benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 7700X is faster than the Ryzen 7 5800XT. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5800XT in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 7700X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 5800XT. Also, the Ryzen 7 7700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7700X has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 5800XT. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
