Ryzen 7 5825U vs Core i5-12600H benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-12600H performs better than the Ryzen 7 5825U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5825U in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-12600H has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 7 5825U. Indeed, the Core i5-12600H has 12 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Ryzen 7 5825U. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-12600H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 5825U. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 5825U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-12600H CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i5-12600H also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5825U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
