Ryzen 7 4800H vs Ryzen 9 6900HS benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 9 6900HS performs better than the Ryzen 7 4800H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 4800H in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 6900HS has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 4800H. Also, the Ryzen 9 6900HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 9 6900HS outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 4800H thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 9 6900HS also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4800H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
