Ryzen 7 4800H vs Core i7-12800H benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 4800H is faster than the Core i7-12800H. Despite this, the Core i7-12800H has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-12800H has significantly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 4800H has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 4800H. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 4800H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-12800H. Despite this, the Core i7-12800H has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i7-12800H also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4800H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
