Ryzen 7 4700U vs Ryzen Z2 Go specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 4700U beats the Ryzen Z2 Go in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen Z2 Go has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 4700U has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen Z2 Go that has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen Z2 Go has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 4700U. Also, the Ryzen Z2 Go has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 4700U CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen Z2 Go CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4700U has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen Z2 Go. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
