Ryzen 7 4700U vs Ryzen 5 7430U specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 7430U performs better than the Ryzen 7 4700U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 4700U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 4700U has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 7430U that has 6 cores. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7430U has more threads than the Ryzen 7 4700U. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 7430U has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 4700U. Also, the Ryzen 5 7430U has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 4700U has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 7430U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7430U has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 7 4700U.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
