Ryzen 7 4700U vs Ryzen 5 7235HS specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 7235HS is faster than the Ryzen 7 4700U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 4700U in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 4700U has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 7235HS has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 7235HS has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 4700U. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 4700U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 7235HS. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
