Ryzen 7 4700U vs Core i7-8700T benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 4700U beats the Core i7-8700T in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8700T in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 4700U has slightly more cores than the Core i7-8700T. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4700U has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i7-8700T. Despite this, the Core i7-8700T has more threads than the Ryzen 7 4700U. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-8700T has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 4700U. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 4700U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 4700U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-8700T CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4700U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-8700T. Despite this, the Core i7-8700T has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 7 4700U.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
