Ryzen 7 4700U vs Core i7-1255U benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-1255U performs better than the Ryzen 7 4700U. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1255U has slightly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 4700U has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 4700U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 4700U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1255U. Despite this, the Core i7-1255U has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Core i7-1255U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
