Ryzen 7 4700U vs Core i5-1245U benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-1245U performs better than the Ryzen 7 4700U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 4700U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1245U has slightly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 4700U that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 4700U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 4700U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1245U. The info from our database shows that the Core i5-1245U has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 4700U. The Core i5-1245U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
