Ryzen 7 4700U vs Core i3-8350K comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 4700U is faster than the Core i3-8350K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-8350K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 4700U has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i3-8350K has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i3-8350K. Our comparison shows that the Core i3-8350K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 4700U. A Ryzen 7 4700U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i3-8350K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 4700U has more L2 cache than the Core i3-8350K. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
