Ryzen 7 4700U vs Core i3-12100F benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-12100F is faster than the Ryzen 7 4700U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 4700U in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 4700U has significantly more cores than the Core i3-12100F. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4700U has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i3-12100F. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-12100F has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 4700U. Also, the Core i3-12100F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 4700U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i3-12100F CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 7 4700U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
