Ryzen 7 2700 vs Core i5-13400F specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-13400F beats the Ryzen 7 2700 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 2700 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-13400F has slightly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 2700 has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-13400F. Despite this, the Core i5-13400F has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 2700 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-13400F. Despite this, the Core i5-13400F has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 7 2700.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
