Ryzen 5 5600U vs Ryzen 7 4800H specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 4800H is faster than the Ryzen 5 5600U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 5600U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 4800H has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 5600U that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5600U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 4800H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 5600U. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. A Ryzen 5 5600U CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 4800H CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 4800H has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 5600U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 5600U has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 7 4800H.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
