Ryzen 5 5600 vs Ryzen 7 7700X specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 7700X beats the Ryzen 5 5600 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 5600 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 7700X has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 5600 that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5600. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 7700X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 5600. Also, the Ryzen 7 7700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 5600 CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 7700X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 7700X has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 5600. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
