Ryzen 5 2400GE vs Core i5-9400T benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 2400GE beats the Core i5-9400T in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-9400T in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-9400T has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 5 2400GE. Indeed, the Core i5-9400T has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 5 2400GE. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 2400GE has more threads than the Core i5-9400T. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 2400GE has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-9400T. Also, the Ryzen 5 2400GE has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 2400GE has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i5-9400T. Despite this, the Core i5-9400T has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 2400GE.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 2400GE has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
