Ryzen 3 2300U vs Xeon W3550 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 2300U is faster than the Xeon W3550. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon W3550 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Xeon W3550 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Xeon W3550 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 2300U. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 2300U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 2300U CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon W3550 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 2300U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon W3550. Despite this, the Xeon W3550 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 2300U.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 2300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
