Radeon RX 6700 XT vs GeForce RTX 4090 D benchmarks

For gaming, the GeForce RTX 4090 D graphics card is better than the Radeon RX 6700 XT in our tests.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 6700 XT also has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.

Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the GeForce RTX 4090 D has significantly more memory with 24 GiB of memory compared to 12 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.

In addition, the Radeon RX 6700 XT has a significantly lower TDP at 230 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 4090 D at 425 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.

In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce RTX 4090 D is better than the Radeon RX 6700 XT.
