Radeon RX 6700 XT vs GeForce RTX 4090 comparison
In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 4090 beats the Radeon RX 6700 XT in gaming performance.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 6700 XT has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 6700 XT also has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the GeForce RTX 4090 has significantly more memory with 24 GiB of memory compared to 12 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 6700 XT has a significantly lower TDP at 230 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 4090 at 450 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce RTX 4090 is faster than the Radeon RX 6700 XT.
