Radeon RX 6500 XT vs GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop specs and performance
For gaming, the GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop graphics card is better than the Radeon RX 6500 XT in our tests.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 6500 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 6500 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop has significantly more memory with 5.97 GiB of memory compared to 4 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop has a slightly lower TDP at 80 W when compared to the Radeon RX 6500 XT at 107 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop over the Radeon RX 6500 XT.
