Radeon RX 590 vs GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop specs and performance

For gaming, the GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop graphics card is better than the Radeon RX 590 in our tests.

The Radeon RX 590 has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. Despite this, the GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.

Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon RX 590 has slightly more memory with 8 GiB of memory compared to 5.97 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.

According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop is faster than the Radeon RX 590.
