Pentium G3220T vs Core 2 Quad Q8200 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Pentium G3220T is faster than the Core 2 Quad Q8200. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core 2 Quad Q8200 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core 2 Quad Q8200 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Pentium G3220T that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium G3220T. With our hardware info, we find that the Pentium G3220T has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core 2 Quad Q8200. A Pentium G3220T CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Quad Q8200 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Pentium G3220T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
