Pentium G3220T vs Core 2 Duo E8500 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core 2 Duo E8500 beats the Pentium G3220T in overall performance. Despite this, the Pentium G3220T has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core 2 Duo E8500 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Pentium G3220T. A Pentium G3220T CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Duo E8500 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Pentium G3220T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
