N97 vs Xeon X3450 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon X3450 performs better than the N97. Despite this, the N97 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Xeon X3450 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon X3450 has a slightly higher clock speed than the N97. The info from our database shows that the Xeon X3450 has more L2 cache than the N97

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the N97 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
