GeForce RTX 3090 Ti vs Radeon RX 7900 XT specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Radeon RX 7900 XT beats the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti in gaming performance.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 7900 XT has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 7900 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
As stated by the manufacturer, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti has slightly more memory with 24 GiB of memory compared to 20 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Radeon RX 7900 XT has a much lower TDP at 315 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti at 450 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the Radeon RX 7900 XT over the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti.
