GeForce RTX 3070 vs Radeon R5 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 3070 beats the Radeon R5 in gaming performance.
The GeForce RTX 3070 has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the GeForce RTX 3070 also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
In addition, the Radeon R5 has a significantly lower TDP at 15 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 3070 at 220 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce RTX 3070 is faster than the Radeon R5.
