GeForce GTX 1070 vs TITAN Xp specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the TITAN Xp beats the GeForce GTX 1070 in gaming performance.
Our database shows that the GeForce GTX 1070 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce GTX 1070 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the TITAN Xp has significantly more memory with 12 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the GeForce GTX 1070 has a significantly lower TDP at 150 W when compared to the TITAN Xp at 250 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the TITAN Xp is better than the GeForce GTX 1070.
