GeForce GTX 1070 vs GeForce RTX 4080 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 4080 beats the GeForce GTX 1070 in gaming performance.
Our database shows that the GeForce RTX 4080 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce RTX 4080 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the GeForce RTX 4080 has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the GeForce GTX 1070 has a significantly lower TDP at 150 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 4080 at 420 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce RTX 4080 is better than the GeForce GTX 1070.
