GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q vs Quadro P2200 comparison
For gaming, the GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q graphics card is better than the Quadro P2200 in our tests.
Our database shows that the GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. Despite this, the Quadro P2200 has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q has significantly more memory with 8 GiB of memory compared to 5 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the Quadro P2200 has a slightly lower TDP at 75 W when compared to the GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q at 90 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q is faster than the Quadro P2200.
