Core i7-9850H vs Ryzen 5 PRO 3350G benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-9850H performs better than the Ryzen 5 PRO 3350G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 PRO 3350G in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-9850H has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 5 PRO 3350G. Indeed, the Core i7-9850H has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 5 PRO 3350G. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 PRO 3350G. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 PRO 3350G has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-9850H. Despite this, the Core i7-9850H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9850H CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 5 PRO 3350G CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3350G has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9850H. Despite this, the Core i7-9850H has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 3350G.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-9850H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
