Core i7-9750H vs Core i5-13420H specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-13420H beats the Core i7-9750H in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9750H in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-13420H has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i7-9750H has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-9750H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-13420H. Despite this, the Core i5-13420H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The info from our database shows that the Core i5-13420H has more L2 cache than the Core i7-9750H. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-9750H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
