Core i7-9700T vs Xeon Gold 6128 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon Gold 6128 beats the Core i7-9700T in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700T in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-9700T has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Xeon Gold 6128 that has 6 cores. Despite this, the Xeon Gold 6128 has more threads than the Core i7-9700T. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon Gold 6128 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9700T. Despite this, the Core i7-9700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700T CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon Gold 6128 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
