Core i7-9700T vs Xeon E5-2470 v2 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-9700T beats the Xeon E5-2470 v2 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2470 v2 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2470 v2 has slightly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Core i7-9700T that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700T. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-2470 v2 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9700T. Despite this, the Core i7-9700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-9700T CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2470 v2 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i7-9700T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
