Core i7-9700T vs Ryzen Z2 Go comparison

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen Z2 Go beats the Core i7-9700T in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700T in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-9700T has significantly more cores than the Ryzen Z2 Go. Indeed, the Core i7-9700T has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen Z2 Go. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Z2 Go has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9700T. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Ryzen Z2 Go outputs less heat than Core i7-9700T thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
