Core i7-9700T vs Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-9700T performs better than the Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700T has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U outputs less heat than Core i7-9700T thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i7-9700T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
