Core i7-9700T vs Core Ultra 5 125U specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Core Ultra 5 125U beats the Core i7-9700T in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700T in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core Ultra 5 125U has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Core i7-9700T that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-9700T. With our hardware info, we find that the Core Ultra 5 125U has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9700T. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i7-9700T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
