Core i7-950 vs FX-770K specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-950 beats the FX-770K in overall performance. Despite this, the FX-770K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-950 has significantly more cores than the FX-770K. Indeed, the Core i7-950 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the FX-770K. It also has more threads than the FX-770K. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-770K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-950. Also, the FX-770K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The FX-770K outputs less heat than Core i7-950 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-950 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
